TIPS AND HEALTH

If you have been feeling unwell a few days before or wake up on the day under the weather, please don't run. There will always be another event and we would rather you got round safely.

The day of the run is not the time to try out new Trainers/ running clothes. It's always best to have been training in what you plan to wear for at least a month.

Stay well hydrated a few days before the run as well as on the day. Avoid alcohol the night before and excess coffee and tea in the day as these can dehydrate you. After the finish make sure you drink a bottle of water. Hydration is of importance but just bear in mind excess water can cause its own problems.

The day of the event may not be the time to try new energy drinks/ supplements. Use what you have tried before.

Have a good breakfast a few hours before, high in carbohydrates and low in fat. Bananas and porridge will set you up for a great run.

The Flamstead 10k team wish you a safe and enjoyable experience.
